To live the spiritual life is to open to another world within oneself • It is, as it were, to reverse one’s consciousness • all who have lived a spiritual life have had the same experience: suddenly something in their being has turned over, so to speak, has been reversed all of a sudden … • Something has literally turned over • There has been a decisive experience and the point of view in life, the way of looking at life, the stand one takes in relation to it, has suddenly changed • And as soon as one is turned towards the spiritual life and reality, one touches the Infinite, the Eternal, and there is no longer any question of more or less capacities or possibilities • When the reversal of the being has taken place, all that is over • One does not seek any longer: one sees • One no longer deducts: one knows • One no longer gropes: one walks straight to the goal • And when one has gone farther – only a little farther – one knows, feels, lives that supreme truth that the Supreme Truth alone acts, the Supreme Lord alone wills, knows, and works through human beings • How could any error be possible there? What He does, He does because He wills to do it • If one sincerely wants to help others and the world, the best thing one could do is to be oneself what one wants others to be – not only as an example, but because one becomes a centre of radiating power which, by the very fact of existing, obliges the rest of the world to change
